What this site is

TipoCambioCR is a free public dashboard and Costa Rica exchange rate API for the dólar–colón pair (USD/CRC). It shows the official buy and sell rates from the Banco Central de Costa Rica (BCCR) SDDE API, compares ventanilla rates from banks, cooperatives, and exchange houses, and converts amounts in either direction.

The headline rate follows the calendar in America/Costa_Rica. After about 5:30 p.m. Costa Rica time the central bank publishes the next business day's referencia. This site stores that preview and switches the public headline at midnight, then refreshes the full window board in the morning. The figures are not a second-by-second market feed.

Es un tablero gratuito del tipo de cambio dólar–colón en Costa Rica. La tasa oficial sale del Banco Central, y la tabla de ventanilla compara bancos, cooperativas y casas de cambio. No pide cuenta ni cobra por consultar.

Who it is for

People in Costa Rica, expats, and tourists use the page to check today's rate and convert dollars to colones. Developers and agents use the same figures as JSON, with no API key. TipoCambioCR does not move money, quote unofficial street rates, or replace the central bank.
