What tipocambiocr.net stores in the browser, what the visitor counter sends, and what it does not collect.
What we do not collect
TipoCambioCR does not create accounts and does not ask for your name, email, or phone number. The exchange rates are public figures from the Banco Central de Costa Rica. The site does not sell personal data and does not run third-party advertising.
No hay cuentas de usuario. No pedimos nombre, correo ni teléfono. Las tasas son cifras públicas del Banco Central de Costa Rica.
What stays on your device
localStorage keeps the theme (light or dark), the language (Spanish or English), which institutions you pin on the chart, and a timestamp used to expire the cached chart. IndexedDB stores rate snapshots you already loaded so the chart can reopen without downloading the whole history again. sessionStorage stores the visitor-counter number for the current tab so the counter is not incremented on every redraw.
Once per browser session the page sends a POST to the data API to increment an aggregate visitor count. That request does not include an account id. The read API also limits clients to 120 GET requests per IP per minute. The address is used for that limit and is not published as a profile.
Vercel hosts the website and Supabase hosts the rate API. Fonts ship with the app rather than loading from an ad network. You can remove the stored preferences by clearing site data for tipocambiocr.net in your browser. The central bank's own website is covered by BCCR, not by this page.
